Objective

Redesign the PTA Events platform to improve usability, engagement, and overall user satisfaction.

Context

PTA Events is a platform dedicated to organising and managing school fundraising events. However, the existing platform faced several usability challenges, leading to low engagement and high administrative burdens. The goal was to create a more intuitive and user-friendly platform that would streamline event creation, increase participation, and improve overall user satisfaction.

Engagement

Discovery and Audit

Conducted a two-week discovery sprint to evaluate the current platform, engage with stakeholders, and define success metrics. This initial phase was critical in setting the direction for the redesign. A detailed audit using design system heuristics was performed to identify issues related to navigation, mobile usability, and communication tools. This audit highlighted key areas for improvement and provided a roadmap for the redesign.

Stakeholder and User Research

Conducted interviews with stakeholders and user focus groups to gather insights and feedback on the platform’s challenges and potential enhancements. This research ensured that the redesign addressed the real needs and pain points of users. Understanding the perspectives of various stakeholders and users helped in creating a more user-centric design.

Journey Mapping and Prototyping

Mapped out user journeys to identify key pain points and opportunities for improvement. This process helped visualise the user experience and guided the design of more intuitive and efficient workflows. Developed wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, conducting usability testing to refine the design. This iterative process allowed for continuous feedback and improvements, ensuring a user-friendly final product.

Design Implementation

Created a cohesive design library to ensure consistency across the platform. This system included standardised components and guidelines, making it easier to maintain and scale the platform in the future. The design components ensured that all elements of the platform were aligned, providing a seamless user experience.
